Verruca Dry Needling

Leith Podiatry & Chiropody offers verruca dry needling, reported to be an effective method for treating stubborn and multiple verrucas. Dry needling has been used for over 40 years and was first described in a medical journal in America in 1969.

The procedure, carried out painlessly under local anaesthetic, involves disrupting the verruca tissue with a sterile needle. This encourages the body to initiate an immune response, allowing the body to deal with the verruca itself.

In the case of multiple verrucas, only one lesion needs to be treated, which may then result in the spontaneous resolution of all verrucas. Unlike treatments using acids, dry needling usually only requires a single application.
